Sigel GmbH based in Mertingen was started in 1947 and has grown from a printing press into one of the leading companies in the sector of office supplies and stationery products. The company's success is backed by around 300 employees whose long-standing experience, commitment and initiative have provided the market with ever better solutions.

In 2005, we implemented a central media-neutral database for Sigel using advastamedia®. The database acts as a central storage for media data required by the Marketing and Sales departments. Besides developing the database the project comprised the creation of a custom online maintenance application, the implementation of a central image database and the dynamic production of a catalogue based on QuarkXPress. We also produced a dynamic central price list based on Adobe InDesign. The database system and the web maintenance application are run on a LINUX server at the Sigel computer centre. The browser-based maintenance application and production of print products are carried out on Apple Macintosh systems.
